Sketch Club at the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh.
Sunday 20th July
10am-3pm (including lunch break)
In the morning, we’ll explore the beautiful surroundings of the Botanical Gardens, taking time to observe and learn to use mixed media to sketch the natural elements and details that inspire us. You will be introduced to location drawing and observational illustration where you will begin to build a collection of visual research and creative ideas.
In the afternoon, we’ll head to Submarine Art Studios, just a short walk from the Botanics in Stockbridge, where you’ll be supported in transforming your sketches into your own unique scene using a range of mixed media. This hands-on workshop introduces location drawing and how to use it to inform your illustration practise in a relaxed, creative setting. No prior experience is necessary—this course is open to all levels but especially suitable to beginners.
Suitable for all abilities.
Each group will have its own online gallery page where they can download and share all the work they create.
All equipment and materials included.
