Immersive Landscapes

Open the Immersive Landscapes gallery

Explore landscape studies made at Submarine Art School in Edinburgh, from architectural perspectives to coastlines and industrial scenes.

We have been drawing, painting and printing:

  • Courtyards, narrow streets and towers in black ink, with fine lines, crosshatching and strong shadows.

  • Architectural perspectives with blue, yellow and warm-coloured washes.

  • Rolling fields, lakes and woodland explored through coloured pencil and painted washes.

  • Boats, beaches and coastal boardwalks, using soft shading and contrasting textures.

  • Tree reflections and architectural scenes in monochrome printmaking experiments.

  • Industrial landscapes with red cranes, shipping containers and roads receding into the distance.
