Fashion Design
Summer Holidays - Week 2
Mon 7th July - Fri 11th July
10am-3pm
8-13 yrs
£300 for full week
or £60 per day
Join us for the second week of the summer holidays where Submarine’s art club theme will be Fashion Design.
Activities will include sewing, printmaking, collage, digital design, illustration, upcycling and customisation.
For those who would like to learn to sew but haven’t had experience using a machine before we’d recommend booking the first Monday at least so they can follow our induction to using the machines with sewing tutor Laura McVean. If you can’t make the Monday then don’t worry, our tutors will be on hand to provide basic sewing introduction to those who are interested and will be able to help the kids with their designs..
If you don’t fancy sewing don’t worry the week will be packed with other fashion related art and design projects too, including designing your own tote bags, customising and transforming vintage clothes, digital design, printmaking and lots more.
Here is a guide to the activities each day.
Monday 7th July - Sewing Machine Induction + Tote bag design
Tuesday 8th July - Patterns + Printmaking
Wednesday 9th July - Digital Fashion Design
Thursday 10th July - Vintage Upcycling
Friday 11th July - Customisation (badges and accessories)
Each day will be split into a morning and afternoon session and we will take a break for lunch where the kids can relax, eat and hopefully enjoy some sunshine outside.
We will also be screening some inspiring short creative films for them to watch.
Refreshments will be provided but we ask all participants to please bring their own packed lunch/snacks.
Book a single day or come along for the whole week for an amazing creative experience in our beautiful new Submarine art studios.
Earlybird offer for full week bookings will be open until the end of May.
Participants will be grouped together by age so they can make friends and enjoy being creative with their peers in a safe and fun atmosphere!
All work created will be uploaded to our online workshop galleries page for you to view, download and share.

These art clubs will be led by Laura McVean and Tom Ellis, and assisted by the Submarine Team.
All our tutors and assistants are PVG registered and experienced at working with children.
